About Mayra Mejia

I am a multi-talented Latina born on November 16, 1965 in the Dominican Republic and raised Catholic, however, I am not religious.  My religion consists of the first two words of The Lord’s Prayer. I am an American citizen and have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Science with honors from the City University of New York, Hunter College. I am fluent in both spoken and written English and Spanish. After graduating from college, I spent four years managing Plymouth Shops, a retail specialty shop chain for the career woman and after receiving my graduate degree I spent over 12 years in the medical communications industry. I have worked with world-renowned medical specialists and researchers, corporate leaders, and top-notch marketers and product managers in the United States.

My hobbies include graphic design, music, photography, and writing. I love natural foods and exercise be it Bikram Yoga or long walks. I recently started meditating and gave up meat, dairy, and processed foods in exchange for a healthier lifestyle and cease to contribute to animal suffering while also helping to save the environment. I live in New York City and I am an avid book reader, social media advocate, and higher truth seeker.
